This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected, used, and shared when you use Dolarchand ("we", "us", "our"). It applies to the website at dolarchand.com, our iOS and Android apps, our browser extension, and our developer API (together, the "Services").
Dolarchand is an informational tool that displays publicly available currency, gold, silver, and cryptocurrency reference prices. It is built to need as little information about you as possible: you do not create an account, and we do not ask for your name, phone number, or any financial or identity details to use the Services.
The short version
- No account, sign-up, or login is required to use the Services.
- Your preferences (theme, language, selected assets, price alerts) are stored on your own device or browser, not in a profile tied to your identity.
- We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information, and we do not use advertising or cross-site tracking networks.
- We rely on a small number of service providers (such as our hosting provider and, for mobile push notifications, the platform operators) that process limited technical data on our behalf.
1. Information collected through the website
You can browse the website without identifying yourself. Like virtually all websites, our hosting and content-delivery infrastructure automatically processes limited technical data needed to serve pages and keep the service secure, which may include:
- your IP address, approximate region, browser type, device type, and operating system;
- the pages or endpoints you request, referring URLs, and the date and time of each request;
- diagnostic and security signals used to detect abuse, prevent fraud, and mitigate denial-of-service attacks.
This technical data is used only to operate, secure, and improve the Services and is kept for a limited period. We do not use it to build advertising profiles. Your display preferences (such as theme and language) are stored in your browser's local storage on your device. See our Cookie Policy for details.
2. Information in the mobile apps (iOS and Android)
The mobile apps fetch the same public price data the website shows and keep your settings on your device:
- On-device settings. Selected assets, watchlists, view preferences, language, theme, and widget configuration are stored locally on your device.
- Price alerts. Thresholds you set are stored on your device. To deliver an alert as a notification, the app may register a push token with Apple Push Notification service (APNs) or Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM). These tokens identify a device installation, not you personally, and are used only to deliver the notifications you requested.
- Network requests. To load prices, the app contacts our servers, which process the technical request data described in Section 1.
- Crash and performance data. Where the platform provides it, we may receive aggregated, anonymized crash or performance reports to fix bugs. You can usually control this in your device's privacy settings.
The apps do not request access to your contacts, photos, microphone, or precise location, and we do not collect that information. Your use of the apps is also subject to the privacy practices of the Apple App Store and Google Play, which we do not control.
3. Information in the browser extension
The browser extension displays prices in your browser toolbar and is intentionally minimal:
- it stores your preferences (such as selected assets and refresh interval) using the browser's local extension storage on your device;
- it requests price data from our API over the network, which involves the technical request data described in Section 1;
- it does not read the content of the pages you visit, does not track your browsing history, and does not inject advertising.
The permissions it requests are limited to what is required to fetch prices and store your settings, and are described on the extension's store listing.
4. How information is used
We use the limited information described above only to:
- provide, maintain, and display the price data and Services;
- remember your preferences and deliver alerts you have set;
- secure the Services, prevent abuse, and diagnose and fix technical problems;
- understand aggregate, non-identifying usage so we can improve the Services;
- comply with applicable law and enforce our Terms of Service.
6. Data retention
Technical and security logs are kept only as long as needed for the purposes above and are then deleted or anonymized. Preferences stored on your device remain until you change them, clear your browser/app storage, or uninstall the app or extension.
7. Your choices and rights
- You can clear locally stored preferences at any time through your browser or device settings, or by uninstalling the app or extension.
- You can disable price-alert notifications in the app or in your device's notification settings.
- Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data, or to object to or restrict certain processing (for example, under the GDPR or similar laws). Because we hold very little information that identifies you, these requests are often satisfied by the on-device controls above; you can also contact us using the details below.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the limited data we process. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You use the Services at your own risk.
9. Children
The Services are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can address it.
10. International users
The Services may be operated from, and information may be processed in, countries other than your own, whose data-protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction. By using the Services you acknowledge this processing.
11. No financial advice
All prices and figures provided through the Services are indicative, may be delayed or inaccurate, and are offered for general information only. They are not financial, investment, tax, or trading advice and must not be relied upon for any transaction. See our Terms of Service for the full disclaimer and limitation of liability.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above, and your continued use of the Services after a change means you accept the revised policy.
